Keeping in the fall is one of the best ways to take your family outside and enjoy the beautiful weather together. Whether you are planning a fall break camping trip or a couple’s vacation, getting out in the fall is an excellent choice. Learn more about our favorite RV tips for planning your fall vacation below.
Plan to Pack in Layers
Because of the fluctuating temperatures in the autumn, one of my favorite tips for fall camping is to make sure you pack in layers. You’ll want to have something warm to wear in the mornings or on chilly evenings, but the middle of the day is likely to be much more warm, so you’ll need a good T-shirt or undershirt for those times of day.
Find a Place Close to a Fall Festival
If you’re traveling with kids, finding a destination with a fall festival is an excellent way to make the most of your time. Look into locations with harvest or fall festivals and plan your trip accordingly. This is an excellent way to plan something to do outside of the campground for your family and give your kids something fun to look forward to.
Visit a State Park
Only some realize that fall is an excellent time of year to visit a state park. Both state and national parks experience fewer visitors during the fall, even though it’s a fantastic time to visit the parks.
Pack Your Hiking Gear
Hiking in the fall is one of the best times to get out on the trails. Because of the beautiful weather and the vibrant foliage, hiking in the fall is a different experience from any other time of year. So wherever you plan to go, make sure you take your hiking gear.
Don’t Forget to Take Pictures
Lastly, whatever you plan to do on your vacation, make sure you take lots of pictures. Because of the beautiful fall colors, it’s an excellent time to get family pictures at the campground.
