When are you need some thing to start your morning at the campgrounds? Or you’re looking for a dessert for your next potluck this Dutch oven cobbler is the perfect recipe. This camping recipe features sweet and sour and is easy to make. Get the recipe below.

Ingredients

- 4 tbsps butter
- 3/4 c. all purpose flour
- 3/4 c. Sugar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 tsps vanilla extract
- 1 (16 oz) package frozen mixed berries
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving
Instructions:
- Start by defrosting the frozen berries just set them out on your Rv’s counter. About an hour before you’re ready to start cooking.
- Build a strong fire and spread out the coals. You’ll need around 25 calls for this recipe.
- Preheat the Dutch oven to around 350°.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour 1/4 cup of sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir until thoroughly blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk and vanilla. Then whisk together into the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
- Melt the butter in the Dutch oven
- Pour the batter into the Dutch oven and top with berries. Then sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sugar evenly over the top and replace the lid on the Dutch oven.
- Spread out 17 coals underneath the Dutch oven to create an even cooking space and place eight of the hot coals on the lid.
- Bake for around 45 minutes to an hour, or until the fruit is bubbling and thick in the batter is beginning to brown.
- To prevent the better from burning, be sure to turn the oven and the lid in opposite directions around every 15 minutes or so while baking.
- Remove the Dutch oven from the heat and allow to cool before serving. Top with ice cream or whipped cream in addition to chopped nuts for a delicious breakfast or after dinner treat.
